Job Description

Function: Supply Chain - Packaging

Location: Tadcaster

Salary: Up to £42,000 a year (depending on experience), plus a £9,373 shift allowance & benefits below!

Contract: Permanent

Shift pattern: Panama pattern - 12-hour shifts, mix of days and nights

Shift Leader - Bottling

With 2,100 colleagues, a nationwide pub network and a portfolio of brilliant brands proudly made in the UK, we combine pioneering spirit with real scale. We’re also a certified Great Place to Work®, and one of the UK’s Best Workplaces in Manufacturing, Production & Transportation™, a recognition of the culture and colleague experience we build every single day. Together, we’re shaping the future of beer, cider, pubs and beyond.

Now we’re looking for… …a Shift Leader to help keep our Tadcaster bottling line safe, productive and brilliant.

About the role

As Shift Leader on our Tadcaster bottling line, you’ll lead your shift team to work safely and deliver to plan. You’ll report to the Bottling Line Leader and play a central role in supporting colleagues on the production line, helping every person to develop both professionally and personally. You’ll work closely with your peers to keep the site running well, using Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) as our guiding framework.

You’ll be based at our Tadcaster site and work the Panama shift pattern: 12-hour shifts, mixing days and nights.

What you’ll do

  • Champion behavioural safety and hazard identification, and make sure hazards are resolved, so we meet our site safety targets
  • Look after the health, wellbeing and attendance of your team
  • Drive high performance through clear communication, performance management and regular development reviews
  • Deliver your department’s KPI targets to achieve strong operational results
  • Work with TPM stakeholders and apply TPM principles correctly
  • Lead Autonomous Maintenance and loss reduction activities and encourage your team to take part
  • Build team capability through structured training and assessment

Who we’re looking for

You’re a proactive leader who inspires and motivates others to achieve exceptional results, and who leads by example. If you thrive in a dynamic environment, enjoy problem solving & know how to bring out the best in your team, this is your chance to make an impact.

Skills and experience

  • Experience of working in a fast-paced FMCG environment or on an automated packaging line, ideally within supply chain
  • A solid understanding of TPM, with practical examples of using it to improve production or manufacturing
  • A proven track record of leading teams with a supportive, engaging style
  • A strong commitment to health and safety, with excellent attention to detail
  • Helpful but not essential: a degree or diploma in packaging, food science or a related mechanical, electrical or manufacturing subject

Behaviours

We value behaviours as much as technical expertise. You’ll:

  • Lead by example, with ownership and accountability
  • Put safety first on every shift
  • Communicate clearly and openly with your team
  • Collaborate effectively with peers across the site
  • Embrace learning, growth and continuous improvement

Why join us?

Every career here starts with the same three words: Pioneer. Grow. Together.

We’re the people behind some of the world’s most iconic beers and ciders: steeped in history, energised for what’s next. We’re leading the charge on low and no alcohol, creating campaigns that stop people in their tracks, bringing out the best in the great British pub and brewing a better world through real, meaningful sustainability action. If you’re curious and bold, and want to build something that matters, you’ll fit right in.

The Joy of True Togetherness is our purpose, and it shapes how we show up for each other every day. From day one, you’ll be valued, included and supported, with the development and opportunity to go further than you thought possible. Because when you win, we all win.

Your benefits

  • Annual bonus
  • Company-funded private healthcare
  • Double-matched pension contributions (up to 10% of salary)
  • Monthly beer and cider allowance (including low and no alcohol)
  • Retail, restaurant and coffee discounts
  • Learning and development opportunities
  • Support, connection and confidential wellbeing resources for family life, neurodiversity, menopause and mental health
