Senior Executive Communications Manager

Level: L4 Senior Manager
Reporting to: EY UK Communications Director

The Opportunity

This role supports the communications for key members of the UK&I leadership team, including our Regional Managing Partner and Deputy Regional Managing Partner. You will help them communicate clearly across the business and with a range of stakeholders ensuring their messages are clear, credible and impactful.

This is first and foremost a writing and advisory role. You will shape leadership narratives and produce the speeches, scripts, messages and briefings for internal and external events and engagements that bring them to life, working closely with leaders, their teams and experts across the business.

Our key audiences have distinct requirements. Partners need timely, substantive insight into the firm’s performance, priorities and direction. Our people need clear, relevant communications that earn their attention. Externally, this role will support the development of leadership communications materials with informed, evidence-based positions on issues relevant to the business and its stakeholders.

This role offers an accomplished communications professional the opportunity to advise senior leaders, shape influential narratives and produce work with impact.

Key Responsibilities

Narrative Development & Written Craft

  • Develop clear leadership narratives with strong, distinct points of view, supported by data and insight.
  • Help our people understand the firm’s direction, the reasons behind key decisions and the impact of our work.
  • Write scripts, speeches, leadership emails, briefings and presentations for live, recorded and written channels, including events.
  • Write in a voice that feels personal to each leader and remains consistent across channels.

Partner Communications & Engagement

  • Provide Partners with clear, timely information about the firm’s strategy, performance and priorities.
  • Produce briefing packs, presentations, Q&A, talking points and cascade materials.
  • Prepare senior leaders for Partner meetings, town halls, webcasts and other firmwide engagements through insight, messaging, materials and rehearsal.

Insight, Judgement & Advisory

  • Advise the firm’s most senior leaders, offering clear recommendations and constructive challenge when needed.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across internal, external and corporate communications and the wider business to ensure leadership positioning and messages remain aligned across all channels.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, inclusive and high-performing team culture.

Skills & Attributes for Success

  • Excellent writing skills, with the range to develop narratives and adapt them for speeches, scripts, and written communications.
  • The ability to write convincingly in another person’s voice and build a clear, evidence-based argument.
  • Experience communicating with senior, well-informed audiences such as partners, shareholders, boards or investors.
  • Curiosity about format and channel, with a willingness to test new approaches and assess them honestly.
  • Experience advising senior leaders and the confidence to offer constructive challenge.
  • The ability to work collaboratively and influence across a complex, matrixed organisation.
  • Experience delivering high-quality work at pace.

To Qualify for the Role, You Must Have

  • Experience in professional services or another large, complex organisation.
  • A strong record of delivering senior leadership communications across internal and external audiences.
  • Experience writing speeches for senior leaders.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and a high standard of written work.

Ideally, You Will Also Have

  • Experience of shareholder, investor, board or partnership communications, or another audience with a direct stake in the organisation.
  • Experience developing briefing or cascade programmes for senior audiences.

What We Look For

  • A strong editorial instinct and the ability to turn complex material into clear, compelling content.
  • Practical ideas for helping leadership messages reach different audiences and hold their attention.
  • Good judgement about where a senior leader’s voice will add value.
  • A collaborative approach, creative thinking and a focus on delivery.
  • The ability to work well through change, pace and uncertainty.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.

What We Offer

We offer competitive pay, flexible working, continuous learning and leadership development in a diverse and inclusive culture where people are encouraged to contribute and make an impact.
