Job Description
This is an excellent opportunity for a finance lawyer with experience in Asian financial markets, regulation or sustainable finance to contribute to the work of ClientEarth. The successful candidate will play a key role in advancing the low-carbon transition across Asia, leveraging their expertise in finance law, financial regulation, sustainable finance and climate-related financial risk.
ClientEarth is a group of international legal experts on climate, energy, and the environment. We use the law in partnership with governments, the private sector, and the public to address climate change, capture the opportunities of the low-carbon transition, and protect nature. Our global team of corporate and financial law experts specializes in climate risk and decarbonization, working across nine offices in Europe, Asia and North America.
Main duties
- Legal research, analysis and thought leadership - conduct research, prepare analysis, identify opportunities and help shape and deliver ClientEarth’s regional finance strategy across Asia
- Strategic Development - Build and maintain a regional network of relationships across Asia
- Advocacy and Representation

Role requirements
- Fluent (CEFR level C2) in English
- Fluent (CEFR level C2) in Filipino and/or Bahasa Indonesia
- Law degree or equivalent
- Relevant legal professional qualification in the Philippines or Indonesia
- Experience in finance law, financial regulation, sustainable finance and climate-related financial risk, including recent developments and trends regarding ESG, sustainability and CSR
- Specific experience in and knowledge of financial law, regulation, markets and institutions in one or more Asian jurisdictions
- Knowledge of formal and informal relationships, working practices and market dynamics regarding financial regulators, supervisors, institutions, investors and transactions in Asia
