Job Description

ClientEarth’s teams across the world use the law to create powerful change and a future where people and planet thrive together. Communications plays a key role in this work. We use a strategic approach to communications to influence decision-making and drive behaviour change.

This role will create and execute hard-hitting, strategic communications interventions to enhance the impact of some of our highest profile and most innovative legal work. It will combine a global outlook on our work with specific knowledge and expertise on the key audiences we need to reach in Brussels. This role will plan and implement outcome-focused communications that help deliver our organisational and impact objectives.

Meet your Manager

Diane Vandesmet has been with ClientEarth for six years and is based in our Brussels office.
Before joining ClientEarth, Diane worked as a broadcast journalist and communications specialist in Beijing, Brussels and Paris. She holds a Master's degree in European Politics from Science Po Grenoble.

Main Duties

  • Strategic communications and media work - Work with the Communications Manager, and other colleagues to build and deliver communications strategies, including projects and campaigns, that maximise the impact of our legal work.
  • Relationship management - Develop relationships to match the strategic needs of our work, including with journalists, partner organisations

Role requirements

  • Fluent (CEFR level C2) in English
  • Fluent (CEFR level C2) in another European language
  • Knowledge of the workings of key political and financial systems in the Brussels context.
  • Experience of working with national and international media to land stories and organisational messages
