Together we can make an impact that will truly change tomorrow. Whether you’re developing cutting-edge green tech, helping customers on the front line or simplifying operations behind the scenes.

Your work here isn’t just a job – it’s a mission. We all play a vital role in energising a greener, fairer future.

Transformation Manager

Leicester / Windsor / Flexible UK Locations with Flex First hybrid working

We’re looking for a brilliant Transformation Manager to join our team of colleagues in British Gas Business, that together are setting the standard in energy supply.

In the complicated world of energy, we strive to make energy simple, creating a straightforward and hassle-free experience for our customers.

Our philosophy is success comes when we’re in it together, trusting each other and having fun along the way. And because we’ve got big plans to help our homes and businesses get closer to net zero, we can’t stand still. We need to be always learning, ready to grow and move forward.

You will be part of the Change and Delivery team driving transformation to help transition to our target operating model and beyond. You will support change across the business to ensure it happens at the right time as part of our strategic journey whilst remaining obsessed with the customer experience throughout.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Identifying the changes that are needed to achieve our aspirational future operating model ensuring we have clear scope, objectives, deadlines, and milestones etc

  • Manage and dovetail with the interdependencies across other projects and programmes, particularly MHHS (Market-wide Half-Hourly Settlement) but also our product and commercial roadmap and data transformation

  • You will manage key risks and challenges across the programme alongside appropriate reporting, updates, stakeholder management etc

  • Ensuring the colleague experience during transition is exceptional: support our people and inform

  • Validate that there is good rigour and governance on all aspects of transition whilst adhering to central PMO standards and policies

  • Provide direct line management to the dedicated change resource assigned, inspiring them and the wider Change and Delivery team to continually grow and deliver excellence, whilst also working with some colleagues in a matrix structure

  • Identify and deliver the business readiness (BR) activity required and lead a BR Community of Practice across relevant audiences within BGB and across the wider Centrica

  • Lead on ‘customer readiness’ where appropriate for any migration and transition activity ensuring they have a frictionless journey as we transform our business

  • Utilisation of appropriate change management and project delivery methodologies (agile, waterfall etc)

You’ll have a track record of:

  • Programme Management experience

  • Managing teams

  • Experience leading tactical and strategic change

  • Financial planning

  • Strategic 3-5 year planning

  • Business transformation in a complex organisation

  • Energy supplier experience would be advantageous

Some of the key competencies for the role are:

  • Customer focus

  • Relationship building

  • Prioritisation

  • Simplicity

  • Growth mindset
