Job Description

Join us, be part of more.

We’re so much more than an energy company. We’re a family of brands revolutionising how we power the planet. We're energisers. One team of 21,000 colleagues that’s energising a greener, fairer future by creating an energy system that doesn’t rely on fossil fuels, whilst living our powerful commitment to igniting positive change in our communities. Here, you can find more purpose, more passion and more potential. That’s why working here is #MoreThanACareer. We do energy differently – we do it all. We make it, store it, move it, sell it and mend it.

About your team:

At Centrica Energy, our mission is to move it.

We’re energy movers by nature. We’re a global renewable energy trading company which helps move energy from source to use – powering businesses, homes, and societies as they transition to a new sustainable energy future. If the idea of working to create a sustainable energy future also moves you, we may very well be the right place for you.

Are you looking for an opportunity to kickstart your career in one of Europe’s leading energy trading companies? And do you want to utilize your skills in a company where you can learn and grow?

The Asset Forecasting team works on developing new and better methods for improving forecast accuracy and data reliability during all steps of the forecast life cycle – from weather models to traded forecasts.

We are looking for an Asset Forecasting Analyst who will help the team monitoring and improving the performance of our renewable energy portfolio.

This role will be based out of our Copenhagen office.

The Job

As a part of a diverse team of currently seven people, you will be working with all kinds of data from our large portfolio of primarily wind turbines and solar panels across the entire Europe. You will have on-going operational tasks, but also spend time diving into details and getting the knowledge required to highlight errors and potential areas of improvement. You will be working with our monitoring and analytics tools and also have the opportunity to give feedback for further improvements.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Monitor and report on external forecast provider performance
  • Evaluate individual site forecast quality, flagging anomalies and data gaps
  • Create and manage Jira tickets for data quality issues
  • Consolidate and communicate structured feedback to external data providers
  • Investigate and escalate data quality problems with internal teams
  • Document monitoring workflows and identify opportunities for process automation

You will be part of a team of experts who will support you in your journey and help you learn the industry specific parts of the job to make sure that you will be successful in this role.

The Person

In order to be successful in the role, you ideally have following experience and competencies:

  • Studying in a field relating to renewable energy, data analysis or similar
  • At least two years left of studies
  • Analytical mindset
  • Eagerness to learn
  • Structured and comfortable with processes

Most importantly, you have a desire to develop as a person and professionally.

Applicant motivation is a decisive selection criterion, so please make sure to add your cover letter/motivation together with your CV when applying. Even if you do not have the experience and competencies listed above, you might still be the perfect candidate for the job.

In your cover letter please tell us:

1) Why are you enthusiastic about the role?

2) What is the most interesting thing, according to you, about Centrica Energy and/or the energy industry?

3) Which career goal(s) do you hope this role could help you achieve?
