An opportunity to play your part. As Procurement & Supply chain Specialist, you will be tasked with crafting and executing a comprehensive strategy for specific categories, working closely with stakeholders and leaders in those categories. The goal is to execute procurement projects that yield the best commercial outcomes for Centrica. This role involves overseeing all third-party logistics and merchant procurement activities associated with the company's product and service movements, ensuring top-notch results for both engineers and customers.

The Day to Day

  • Engage in close collaboration with business stakeholders to establish a strategic roadmap for procurement endeavours, considering evolving business needs, strategic direction, emerging risks, and impending supplier contract renewals
  • Apply an in-depth comprehension of market dynamics, leveraging methodologies like Porter's Five Forces and Kraljic, along with specific cost drivers for the relevant goods, services, or technology, to craft the category strategy
  • Take on a leadership role in executing procurement tenders in alignment with the category strategy
  • Demonstrate adeptness in leading commercial negotiations
  • Spearhead the drafting and negotiation of contracts, working closely with Commercial Legal and specialized legal teams
  • Develop Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) initiatives aligned with the Centrica SRM framework
  • Supervise the contract governance process alongside business stakeholders, including the Group Contracts Committee
  • Effectively mitigate risks in collaboration with risk subject matter experts (SME teams)
  • Manage and optimize the supplier base within the category, encompassing buying channels and the category playbook, to facilitate tactical sourcing
  • Foster extensive collaboration across the Procurement Function to ensure stakeholders receive an optimal experience

About You

  • Extensive expertise in category management within logistics and supply chain domains
  • Exceptional understanding of market dynamics, including present and future trends
  • Proven track record in negotiating terms and pricing with merchant, logistics, and fulfilment entities, alongside diligent performance monitoring and cost-effective practices maintenance
  • Proficient analytical capabilities for comprehending supply chain data, resolving intricate issues, and deploying adaptable logistic strategies
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, facilitating collaboration with suppliers and stakeholders across diverse Centrica business sectors
  • Background in navigating complex and demanding supply chains within large corporate environments
