The role will support the transformation and delivery of Centrica’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) strategy and risk management capabilities across the organisation with a particular responsibility for developing risk data analytics and progressing the tech-enablement of ERM. In addition to engaging with the business’ ERM and Controls platforms, the role will facilitate the use of data visualisation tools such as Power BI to support risk analysis and reporting across key forums.

About the Role:
Conduct data analytics to provide insights into risk trends and patterns, enabling informed decision-making and escalation of risks to relevant stakeholders across the organisation
Collaborate with the Group ERM team to design, implement and maintain innovative report layouts and automated dashboards that enhance the understanding of complex risk data and facilitate strategic risk discussions
Support the development of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and associated monitoring and reporting
Continuously assess and improve the usability and functionality of ERM technology platforms, incorporating user feedback and industry best practices to optimise risk monitoring and reporting processes
Provide technical support and training to end-users on ERM tools and analysis techniques, ensuring proficiency in utilising these platforms to effectively monitor and mitigate risks within their respective areas of responsibility
Maintain an understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to ERM and data analytics, ensuring compliance and alignment of ERM practices
Proactively identify opportunities for automation and process improvement within ERM to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency in risk assessment and reporting processes
About You:
At least 3 years of relevant experience (e.g. data analyst / tech specialist role within ERM / controls / internal audit)
Good understanding of ERM frameworks and methodology
Proven ability to take a methodical and innovative approach to problem solving and deliver required solutions
Ability to foster a positive risk aware culture throughout the organisation
Experience using visualisation tools such as PowerBI and ERM tools to analyse and report on risk metrics and design risk reports
Experience in a highly regulated industry and large complex matrixed organisation is preferred
Education and Certification:
Bachelor’s degree desirable
Professional certifications such as [Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Certified Enterprise Risk Manager (CERM), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)] or equivalent is preferred
Competencies:
Proficient in analysing and interpreting complex data sets, identifying trends, and drawing meaningful insights
Ability to present data effectively using visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau to communicate insights and findings
Proficiency in writing SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyse data from relational databases
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify data-related issues, propose solutions, and make data-driven recommendations
Ability to communicate clearly with colleagues at all levels
A willingness to learn new skills and challenge current ways of working
Ability to innovate and creatively present information in a visually engaging manner
Ability to build strong relationships and work effectively in a team
Proactive, motivated, and able to take initiative
Good project management and organisational abilities
Able to work autonomously without the need for day-to-day direct oversight
Enthusiastic about personal development
Ability to recognise and understand differing stakeholder perspectives
