Reporting to: Residential Gas/Electricity Billing Lead

Bord Gáis Energy generates, sells and trades energy for use in the Republic of Ireland. We’ve been in operation since 1976 and today we supply over 750,000 customers with energy in Ireland. In 2014 we became part of Centrica plc. In this role you’ll be responsible for ensuring that all designated customers are invoiced correctly. You’ll manage your own portfolio of customers ensuring that all invoices including paper, electronic, automated and manual are produced by the contractual deadline. This role is part of a team of Billing Administrators handling invoices of Bord Gáis Energy’s Residential and SME customers.

About the Role

  • Ensure that all designated customers are invoiced correctly and accurately within specified timescales.
  • Manage own portfolio of customers ensuring that all invoices paper, electronic, EDI, manual are produced by the contractual deadline and adheres to taxation rules
  • Assist in clearing any outstanding unbilled sites to reduce the number of credit notes and ensure billing exceptions are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Identify any errors in billed volumes and reconcile data discrepancies
  • Complete the billing to do’s and market message to do’s
  • Adherence to Quality standards in all dealings with customers
  • Adherence to SLA’s for vendors, customers queries, ensuring targets are met within SLA guidelines
  • Manage daily escalation queues – dealing specifically with billing issues and market message queries
  • Respond to phone/email customer queries and complaints
  • Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, external suppliers, ESB and GNI
  • Manage escalated complaints
  • Continuous input into Bord Gáis Energy risk processes and controls
  • Assume other duties as may also be assigned from time to time

About You

  • Experience in semi-regulated market eg. power & utilities, energy or telecom is desirable
  • Demonstrable end user knowledge of Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing (CC&B) is essential
  • Proven interpersonal and communication skills - experience with interdepartmental and all levels of management interactions
  • Ability to interface professionally and positively with internal stakeholders across the wider business in support of driving the audit and compliance agenda
  • Personal accountability - the role requires attention to detail in making evaluative judgements based on the analysis of factual information
  • Takes ownership of issues and have a solution driven attitude
  • Strives to achieve and exceed daily targets
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills - ability to work to targets and deadlines
  • Results orientated, efficient, dynamic individual who is motivated by target achievement
  • Excellent numeric skills and knowledge of principles involved in compliance and risk management
