While this is primarily a daytime role, it may require some element of shift‑pattern working in line with customer and business requirements such as late shifts and Saturdays.

The successful candidate must be willing to undergo Government Security Clearance to SC level, which requires residence in the UK for a minimum of 5 years.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll use your expertise in network configuration to deliver secure, Right First Time solutions that meet customer needs. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Leading on complex network configurations and creating bespoke solutions alongside standard templates.
  • Translating customer requirements into accurate configurations, diagrams, and clear documentation for deployment.
  • Producing site-specific documentation to enable effective on-site implementation.
  • Providing remote support during deployment, troubleshooting issues, and applying configuration changes.
  • Taking full ownership of orders within your area, progressing them in line with agreed processes.
  • Attending customer and project meetings to ensure an exceptional experience.
  • Coaching and supporting colleagues, sharing knowledge, and driving best practices.
  • Working collaboratively with customers, their representatives, and internal teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Promoting efficient ways of working and cost reduction while maintaining standards.

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Vendor accreditation or equivalent experience – Cisco CCNA (or equivalent).
  • Hands-on experience creating configurations for routing and/or switching components.
  • Proficiency with CLI for deploying and troubleshooting Cisco routers and switches.
  • Strong knowledge of networking principles, including LAN, WAN and Wireless solutions.
  • Solid IT understanding and appreciation of holistic IT solutions.
  • Ability to produce clear, concise documentation and communicate technical information effectively to a range of stakeholders.
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively, managing time and workload proactively.
  • Willingness to share knowledge, support colleagues through coaching or mentoring, and contribute to continuous improvement.

Desirable Skills / Experience

  • Knowledge or hands‑on experience of SD‑WAN solutions, such as Fortinet, Meraki, and Cisco, within a delivery or support environment.
  • Progressing towards or holding professional level certification eg. CCNP (or equivalent).
  • Awareness of the IT Managed Services sector and its operational requirements.
