About the role

As a Transformation Manager within Group Planning, you will play a central role in shaping and delivering key transformation programmes that advance portfolio simplification, customer migration, and IT modernisation objectives. You will leverage data to develop robust customer migration strategies, transitioning customers from legacy to strategic products and platforms, underpinned by clear decision frameworks that align product roadmaps, technical architecture, and customer experience priorities. This will require effective alignment across Product, Commercial, and Digital teams, often balancing competing stakeholder priorities.

You will work closely with Senior Transformation Planning Managers, Data Analysts, and Programme Leads to design and execute structured, insight-led plans that accelerate customer migration to strategic products and platforms.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead the development of plans to migrate our customers from our legacy to our strategic products and platforms, leveraging market forecasts, consumer needs and digital delivery plans
  • Design, development, and build structured frameworks to enable such strategy, working closely with our products, sales, and digital teams.
  • Develop robust data models in partnership with our data analysts, enabling data-driven decision-making to achieve the best possible plans and outcomes from our migrations
  • Provide analytical support on complex scenarios to inform leadership decisions, considering business, customer, and colleague impacts.
  • Challenge and stress-test delivery plans to ensure they are robust and aligned to transformation objectives, escalating where required.
  • Act as a role model for BT behaviours, actively championing and advocating BT’s transformation agenda.

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Consulting / transformation experience: experience in management consulting or transformation roles, with a track record of delivering complex programmes.
  • Strong problem-solving capability, with the ability to break down complex transformation challenges into clear problem statements and apply hypothesis-driven approaches.
  • Advanced analytical skills, translating complex data into actionable insights to support decision-making, prioritisation, and customer migration strategies (advanced Excel skills essential).
  • Experience mapping current and future-state customer journeys and processes to drive benefits.
  • Ability to create and apply decision frameworks to support prioritisation, sequencing, and trade-offs across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Proven stakeholder management and communication skills, influencing senior audiences and aligning competing priorities

Desirable Skills / Experience

  • Domain expertise: Experience within telecommunication or retail environments.
  • Programme delivery knowledge: Understanding of programme delivery, including software development lifecycle (SDLC) frameworks.
