Why this job matters

Our newly formed Small and Medium Business team will support businesses with between1 to 249 employees. That could be anything from a sole trader through to a small contact centre. We're already the market leader for small and medium businesses in the UK and we have a big opportunity for Business to be even better for its customers. We’ve got big growth and transformation ambitions for this segment and in this role, you will play a key role in forming this new combined unit and working with the leadership team to continue to drive for growth.

You’ll be a part of an exciting transformation of the channel and routes to market, improving the customer and colleague experience as well as delivering significant returns for BT Business.

The role will champion the revenue, margin and base growth within the Connectivity Products and understand the customer needs and journey across the connectivity portfolio : BT Business Broadband and BT Business Ethernet Services. This person needs to be able to trade off volume and value, making choices that accelerate performance forward holistically, even if it means that a component part needs to slow down.

This team will have the responsibility for Trading the Connectivity portfolio that comes out of the Commercial and Props function, making sure we have a clear trading strategy to deliver the numbers, understand the levers available and can flex the plans according to the demands of the wider P&L.

What you’ll be doing

  • Using insights, analysis and market expertise, own specific targets within SMB Connectivity trading and support creation of customer interventions (marketing, price, sales incentives, etc) as required to ensure we achieve them – providing insight on performance against specific volume and value targets
  • Working closely with Channel Management to ensure Sales Targets (volume and value) achieve or exceed trading P&L targets.
  • Contribution to the MTP/Quarterly target setting process – consideration of the pricing approach, how we acquire from our competitors and retain our base? How we resign, upsell and grow share of wallet with existing customers? Deliver the best Migration journey for our customers throughout our Connectivity portfolio. How we ensure that our plan delivers profitable growth?
  • Co-ordinates and evaluates opportunities and assesses underlying risk, making recommendations on how to optimise and influence future performance
  • Effectively collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders across SMB and BT Business

What we would like to see on your CV

  • Understanding of pricing and commercial principles and experience in a market facing commercial role
  • Demonstrable communication, interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Sound numerical / data analytic skills to support commercial decisions taking into account the external landscape
  • Experience of SMB products and propositions, the external market and the competitor environment, specifically in relation to Business Broadband and Ethernet Products.

Flexible working

BT have moved to a hybrid working model - you can work from home 2 days per week. This means you’ll be at your contractual location 3 days a week.
