About the role

The Learning & Skills Specialist identifies and delivers learning strategies and interventions that ensure the workforce are skilled, reskilled, and upskilled to deliver industry-leading results enhancing the function and organisation's overall competitiveness.

What you’ll be doing

1. Aligns functional learning and skills accountabilities with business strategy, anticipating capabilities needed to execute on strategic priorities to deliver business impact through strategically sequenced, continuous learning and performance initiatives that optimise performance and sustain targeted behavior change.
2. Supports best practice and innovation to drive the design and delivery of effective training solutions in line with the BT Group's learning strategy.
3. Undertakes activities that contribute to the ongoing development of skills taxonomies across functional areas of the organisation.
4. Contributes to the continuous development of the organisation's skilling, upskilling, and reskilling processes and practices, including the building of differentiating capabilities at scale across the full organisation aligning with mid to long term plans of the business.
5. Shapes high impact, first-quality learning experiences that deliver needed and sustained performance results at speed and scale.
6. Manages the delivery of learning experiences within specified functions/value streams of the BT Group ensuring the development of the organisation's workforce productivity.
7. Supports relationships across both internal and external resources, ensuring training interventions align both learner experience and business need.
8. Collaborates with Learning Specialists within a function and cross-functionally to, plan and execute on Learning & Skills capability needs in line with functional needs and Pan BT Skills & Careers Frameworks.
9. Proposes and collaborates on developing new or modifying existing business policies to propel our ability to develop differentiated skills throughout the BT Group.
10. Mentors other professionals, helping to improve the team's abilities by acting as a technical resource.
11. Champions, continuously develops and shares with team knowledge on emerging trends and changes in Learning & Skills.
12. Contributes to the identification and design of learning curriculum, balancing need for local versus pan BT offerings
13. Coaches individuals, teams and line managers to develop core capabilities and ensure performance through additional upskilling and development opportunities
14. Identifies and manages Third-Party suppliers, negotiating on best price and overall value, in line with Group Procurement policy and guidelines
15. Partners with key HR (Functional & Group) and Operational / Business stakeholders to identify the most optimal learning intervention or activity relevant within your domain expertise
