Why this job matters

The RAR Designer is accountable for detailed solution design, configuration support, and delivery assurance of SAP Revenue Accounting & Reporting (RAR) within BT’s SAP S/4HANA Finance landscape.
The role ensures accurate revenue recognition, IFRS 15 compliance, and controlled financial postings, working closely with Finance, Revenue Accounting, Data Migration, and System Integration teams.

What you’ll be doing

SAP RAR Solution Design & Configuration
• Design and support configuration of SAP RAR to meet business specific revenue recognition requirements.
• Lead design of RAR objects including:
o Revenue contracts and contract modifications
o Performance Obligations (POBs)
o Allocation rules and event based revenue recognition
o Revenue postings and reversals
• Ensure seamless integration of SAP RAR with S/4HANA Finance (FICO).
• Define RAR design standards aligned to BT finance controls and audit expectations.
Data Integration & Transformation (BODS)
• Design and govern data integration and transformation flows using SAP BODS.
• Support loading of:
o Contract and transactional data
o Historical revenue balances
o Migration reconciliation data
• Ensure data completeness, consistency, and reconciliation between:
o Legacy revenue systems
o SAP RAR sub ledger
o S/4HANA General Ledger
Finance & FICO Alignment
• Collaborate with Finance, Controlling, and Revenue Accounting teams to translate business rules into RAR designs.
• Support period end revenue processing, postings, and reconciliations.
• Ensure RAR outputs are aligned with GL, profitability reporting, and statutory reporting.
• Support audit, compliance, and financial control reviews.
Testing, Cutover & Support
• Lead solution design support during SIT, UAT, and parallel run phases.
• Support cutover planning, go live, and hypercare for RAR.
• Analyse and resolve complex defects related to revenue recognition and postings.
• Produce and maintain solution design documents, configuration logs, and operational playbooks.

Skills Required

Essential
• 6–10+ years of experience in SAP Finance and Revenue Accounting solutions.
• Strong hands on experience with SAP S/4HANA and SAP RAR.
• Solid understanding of IFRS 15 and revenue recognition principles.
• Strong experience with SAP FICO (GL integration, financial postings).
• Hands on experience with SAP BODS for data transformation and migration.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
Desirable
• Experience with telecom or contract based revenue models.
• Exposure to RAR data migration and historical revenue loading.
• Experience with integration from SD / BRIM / legacy revenue platforms.
• Working experience in Agile or hybrid SAP delivery models.
• SAP certifications in S/4HANA Finance or RAR.
