Why this job matters

You will be a part of the Integration CoE core team. This role provides leadership on the end-to-end build of the Developer Portal (used externally by 3rd party developers who use our monetised APIs) and API Catalogue (used internally by engineers pan-BT). They will lead the team and together will support the on-going design, build, test and support of the API Catalogue and Developer Portal, drive the adoption and further integration into the one Engineering platform. Longer term these resources will be available to work on wider Core Engineering and one engineering area.

What you’ll be doing

  • Innovating and extending the cloud engineering teams engineering quality through Drivinginnovation and engineering quality across full-stack platforms by implementing strong code management, automated build and deployment pipelines, and CI/CD practices to improve the speed, reliability, and repeatability of application delivery. You will champion Test-Driven Development (TDD) and modern engineering practices to ensure high-quality software delivery at scale. n of languages to achieve our outcomes.
  • Driving outcomes through agile collaborative processes while estimating and planning multi- sprint features and aligning them to quarterly outcomes. You will deliver features through stories managed through our platform backlog and will collaborate with your team to deliver features iteratively.
  • Implementing continuous improvements to individual and team practices while being conscious of costs and benefits and taking ownership of implementing any changes based on improvements identified.
  • You will build, run and operate the services you implement and will at times be accountable for supporting any operational challenges or issues that arise.
  • Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information for the cloud community to consume – driving home the improvements we are making to the self-service experience.
  • Ensuring secure application design and implementation, applying best-practice guardrails, secure coding principles, and monitoring solutions to maintain compliance and protect application environments

The Skills you'll need to succeed

  • You will have a strong full-stack development mindset, focusing on building secure, scalable, and high-performance applications across backend and frontend layers.
  • Have experience working as part of a team using Agile methodologies, participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
  • Be an excellent communicator and confident in engaging stakeholders.
  • You will mentor developers, providing technical guidance, supporting design decisions,
  • You will have strong experience in backend development using Java and Python and modern frontend applications using ReactJS, building robust RESTful APIs and microservices.
  • You will be familiar with building AI-powered applications using Agentic and MCP patterns for knowledge retrieval and intelligent responses.
  • You will have knowledge or hands-on experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), Guardrails, RAG, MCP, Python and related Generative AI (GenAI) technologies. You will have working knowledge of software engineering tools - Git, Jenkins (or other CI/CD tools) and will be familiar with the equivalent services on AWS
  • Ability to write comprehensive designs and ensuring code has excellent documentation using Confluence and draw.io
  • You will have experience working with NoSQL databases such as DocumentDB and vector DB, including schema design, indexing strategies, and performance optimization.
  • You will have knowledge of event-driven and asynchronous architectures, with hands-on experience using Kafka and AWS SQS.

EXPERIENCE YOU NEED -

  • Experience in working in agile projects ·
  • Awareness of technical skills like java, python, reactjs, mongodb , LLM, RAG ·
  • Worked with Cloud technologies and a strong infrastructure as code mindset · Good to have experience with Kong API Gateway.
  • Certification in Generative AI (GenAI) or related AI/ML technologies will be considered an added advantage. ·
  • 3-6 years of full stack development experience, applying strong backend and frontend skills across a wide range of projects to deliver scalable and reliable solutions. Being an excellent communicator and able to manage stake holders
