Why This Role Matters

The Senior Transformation Manager drives, directs and oversees strategic change programs that shape CTIO and corporate strategy. They are accountable for driving value creation through targeted initiatives at pace through matrixed teams across CTIO and the wider BT International organisation.

The role holder owns initiatives from concept through to implementation and adoption, with a key focus on value return through solid stakeholder management.

Strategic change programs will include but not limited to; Intra CTIO people / organisational change, Technology change and subsequently any pan-BT International operating model change.

What You’ll be doing – your accountabilities

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of current business processes to identify opportunities for improvement and optimisation.
  • Design and execute strategic initiatives that drive transformation and deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure seamless implementation of transformation programs.
  • Provide expert guidance to stakeholders across all levels to support informed decision-making and effective change management.
  • Act as an embedded resource within core business units to ensure alignment with operational priorities.
  • Serve as the primary interface between transformation functions and the business, enabling clear communication and coordination.
  • Shape transformation initiatives based on real business needs and evolving strategic objectives.
  • Ensure change is embedded and adopted to maximise value return.

Skills required for the job

  • Provide Strategic Thought Leadership – Shape business unit strategy across organisational and technology domains.
  • Strategic Collaboration - Act as a trusted advisor, aligning initiatives with business goals to deliver measurable results.
  • Consultative Expertise - Provide data-driven insights and best-practice recommendations to guide decisions and improve performance.
  • Business Case Creation - Create compelling, evidence-based business cases that justify investments, enable informed decision-making, and align with strategic objectives.
  • Apply Advanced Analytical Skills – Enable transformation by leveraging data and AI to drive strategic decisions, improve operational efficiency, and foster a culture of innovation across the organisation.
  • Enable Strategic Transformation – Leverage deep understanding of current and future network and IT landscapes.
  • Balance Commercial & Strategic Priorities – Combine financial acumen with long-term business objectives.
  • Lead in a Matrixed Environment – Foster collaboration across diverse teams and functions.
  • Engage Stakeholders at All Levels – Drive alignment and secure executive buy-in through effective communication.
  • Value Creation & Realisation - Ensure initiatives deliver tangible benefits by linking solutions to business objectives and tracking impact.
  • Drive Change - Lead change initiatives that align with strategic priorities and measure effectiveness of change through baselining.
  • SAFe methodology - Apply Scaled Agile Framework principles to plan, coordinate, and deliver large-scale initiatives, ensuring alignment across teams, continuous improvement, and value-driven outcomes.

Skills (desirable):

  • Experience of sales and service journeys within a Telco environment.
  • Experience of working in a platform company (Hyperscaler, SaaS)

Experience Required

  • Data driven decision making and communication: Drawing on data and analytical techniques where appropriate and communicating this to business audiences up to Exec level.
  • Requirements management: Documents, analyses, traces, prioritises and agrees on requirements and then controls change and communication to relevant stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Build strong relationships with stakeholders including senior management, employees and external partners to garner support and collaboration.

Desirable but not essential:

  • Experience in Continuous Improvement: drive on-going improvements to process and service
  • Strong technical aptitude: able to deal with complex networking, IT and platform challenges
