About the role

This role provides senior business partnering leadership across SMB and the BT Business Transformation Portfolio, ensuring that transformation activity lands effectively within the business and delivers measurable outcomes.

The position acts as the critical interface between Business Units and Transformation, owning how change is sequenced, absorbed and optimised across SMB.

The role is accountable for:

Shaping how and when transformation lands into the business

Driving business readiness, adoption and value realisation

Leading alignment between Business Owners, Delivery teams and senior leadership

Ensuring the business can respond and pivot rapidly to changing priorities

Operating at senior level, the role moves beyond coordination and governance to proactive orchestration of cross-business activity, ensuring delivery translates into tangible customer, commercial and operational benefit.

What you’ll be doing

Lead and orchestrate cross-business transformation delivery across SMB and the wider Transformation Portfolio, ensuring alignment to strategic priorities and translation into measurable business outcomes

Own how transformation lands into the business, ensuring effective sequencing, readiness, adoption and behavioural change, while minimising operational disruption and enabling the business to pivot at pace

Provide senior oversight of performance, priorities, risks, issues and dependencies, driving pace, accountability and timely intervention to maintain delivery confidence and enable rapid decision-making

Own and lead SMB Progress updates at Business Unit Reviews (BURs) and executive reporting, shaping the narrative, driving accountability and enabling informed decision-making at senior leadership level

Act as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders, shaping discussions, influencing decisions, constructively challenging where required, and ensuring alignment across SMB, Business Units and the wider transformation agenda

Establish and maintain the interface between Business Owners and Delivery teams, ensuring clarity of ownership, priorities and outcomes across the transformation lifecycle

Establish and maintain fit-for-purpose governance across business and transformation teams, ensuring clear ownership, transparency and readiness for executive oversight and assurance

Drive execution across complex delivery landscapes, proactively managing interdependencies, constraints and trade-offs to ensure successful outcomes across multiple business units

Essential Skills / Experience


Significant experience leading complex business transformation and operating model change within large-scale organisations, with clear linkage to business outcomes and value delivery

Proven track record of acting as a trusted business partner to senior stakeholders, influencing decisions, shaping priorities and driving alignment across multiple business units

Strong expertise in business readiness, change adoption and transformation landing, with the ability to balance delivery pace with operational impact

Demonstrated ability to operate across multiple business units and transformation portfolios, aligning Business Owners, Delivery teams and senior leadership to a common set of outcomes

Experience establishing and leading the interface between business and transformation functions, ensuring clarity of ownership, priorities and execution

Deep understanding of governance, performance management and executive reporting, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, insight-led recommendations and actions

Strong capability in managing risks, issues, dependencies and interdependencies, with the judgement to anticipate challenges and drive resolution across complex delivery environments Proven experience leading and facilitating senior forums (e.g. BURs, ExCo, SteerCos), driving accountability and enabling effective decision-making

Strong commercial and operational awareness, with the ability to connect transformation activity to customer impact, financial outcomes and business performance

Excellent communication and engagement skills, with the ability to simplify complexity, challenge constructively and influence at senior level
