Why this job matters

The Senior Manager, Balance Sheet Control oversees balance sheet accounting and financial control activities for BT International, designing and implementing financial controls, processes and systems in accordance with best practice corporate governance, and ensuring effective risk mitigation, whilst providing leadership and strategic direction.

You will provide and assure an effective balance sheet controls framework for BT International, driving compliance, standardisation and consistency of Finance practices, and assuring adherence to BT policies and processes.

What You’ll be doing – your accountabilities

The Senior Manager, Balance Sheet Control leads Balance Sheet Control activities for the BT International Unit, designing and implementing financial controls, processes and systems in accordance with best practice corporate governance, and ensuring effective risk mitigation, whilst providing leadership for the specialism, in alignment with Group business objectives.

Core accountabilities:

  • Leading on all balance sheet control, review and assurance for BT International.
  • Leads BT International month end balance sheet controls review.
  • Leads for BT International on all aspects of Audit for Balance Sheet.
  • Leads BT International Balance Sheet Reconciliation co-ordination.
  • Balance Sheet leadership for BT International, with oversight and assurance complemented via a small but knowledgeable team.
  • Ensuring standardisation and harmonised BT International Balance Sheet Controls, Systems and Processes.
  • Leads and guides transformational changes to Balance Sheet financial control processes across BT International and in line with BT Group.
  • Acts as senior finance partner to BT International Legal, providing financial leadership for Major Litigation activity.
  • Dispensation review for BT International with BT Group and liaison where required.
  • Holistic Filing Assurance Review for Balance Sheet
  • Balance Sheet Analytics (Flux)
  • Leading in the BT International close process, ensuring control adherence, exampled by:
    • Balance Sheet Review
    • Balance Sheet Quarterly deep dives
    • Quarterly Balance Sheet Reconciliations
    • Fixed Asset Review
    • Quarterly Major Litigation Review
