Job Description

About the role

BT is entering a new phase of growth — moving from building infrastructure to unlocking value from it. As new products emerge across connectivity, data, platforms and AI, the ability to take innovation to market and scale it effectively is critical. This role sits at the centre of that challenge.

As Senior Manager, Growth & GTM, you will turn innovation into measurable commercial outcomes — creating demand, shaping markets and scaling new products into BT’s core business. You will work on emerging product areas where there is no established playbook, defining how products are positioned, sold and adopted in real-world environments. You will own growth — from early market validation through to repeatable, scalable revenue.

What makes this role different

  • You will own growth for products built on one of the UK’s most critical digital platforms
  • You will define how new categories and products are brought to market — not follow existing playbooks
  • You will operate from early market validation through to national-scale commercial deployment
  • You will play a central role in how BT converts innovation into sustainable revenue growth
  • You will shape how AI is used to transform GTM and commercial performance at scale

What you’ll be doing

You are accountable for driving the commercial success of innovation products — ensuring they are positioned clearly, sold effectively and scaled into BT’s core portfolio.

You operate across the full lifecycle: shaping early market demand, validating commercial models, building pipeline and enabling transition into scaled sales channels. You will work closely with Product teams, but own how products land in the market and perform commercially.

You will lead through influence and clarity, aligning Product, Sales, Marketing and Operations around growth priorities — while ensuring speed is maintained and complexity is managed.

You will also leverage AI to improve how growth is delivered — from targeting and insight generation to sales enablement and performance optimisation.

What you will be accountable for

Own growth outcomes and commercial performance

Accountable for driving early and scaling revenue performance, including pipeline development, customer adoption and readiness for scale. You are responsible for turning innovation into measurable business impact.

Shape demand, positioning and market entry

Define how products are positioned, differentiated and taken to market. Build compelling narratives, identify target segments and create demand through effective marketing and customer engagement.

Validate commercial models and scale potential

Lead early-stage commercial validation — using customer engagement, POCs and initial deals to test demand, refine pricing and prove scalable business models.

Build and scale repeatable GTM motions

Develop and embed repeatable sales and marketing approaches that can scale within BT’s core channels. Ensure products move from specialist-led selling to consistent, high-performing commercial models.

Drive transition into core business at scale

Own the transition of products into CFU sales and commercial ownership, ensuring teams are equipped with the right assets, capabilities and support to scale effectively.

Ensure end-to-end commercial readiness

Work across fulfilment, service, billing and operations to ensure products can be sold, delivered and supported at scale within BT’s operating model.

Use AI to accelerate growth and GTM performance

Leverage AI to improve targeting, insight generation, campaign effectiveness and sales productivity. Embed data-driven, AI-enabled approaches to optimise growth and scaling performance.

Build and lead high-performing growth capability

Lead and develop a team spanning Product Marketing, Growth Delivery, Business Development and Sales Specialists. Build a high-performance culture focused on outcomes, speed and commercial impact

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Proven experience owning growth, GTM or commercial outcomes for complex products
  • Strong track record of driving revenue, pipeline and adoption, not just enabling GTM
  • Experience taking products from early-stage validation through to scaled commercial performance
  • Deep understanding of product marketing, positioning and demand generation
  • Strong commercial judgement and ability to align senior stakeholders around growth priorities

Desirable Skills / Experience

  • Experience of innovation within a representative environment (Telco/FTSE 100)
  • Experience using data and AI to improve GTM effectiveness and sales performance
  • Ability to operate in ambiguity and define how new products succeed in market
  • Experience building and scaling repeatable sales motions within complex organisations
