About the role

The Network Engineering Professional supports the delivery and maintenance of network solutions across mobile and fixed network domains, developing foundational skills in automation, observability, secure configuration, and operability by design.
Working under guidance, they implement and test network components, maintain data quality, support operational readiness, and contribute to evolving network environments using modern engineering practices.

What you’ll be doing

1. Support engineering activities across mobile or fixed network domains, assisting with system design, build, testing, validation, maintenance, and support while following defined operability and supportability expectations.
2. Assist in implementing new or enhanced network technologies across physical or virtual environments using standardised, automatable configuration patterns.
3. Apply global network infrastructure, security, and regulated domain standards across wireless, local, edge, cloud connected, and platform environments to ensure consistent and compliant delivery.
4. Support installation, configuration, and testing of network hardware and software, coordinating with colleagues to ensure readiness, quality checks, security controls, and policy alignment.
5. Execute assigned tasks to maintain technology currency and supportability, including basic automation, scripting, or data validation activities where trained.
6. Collect, organise, and validate network performance, capacity, and lifecycle data to support roadmap decisions and Network Health Assessments.
7. Prepare documentation, knowledge transfer materials, and operational data to support smooth handover, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and traceability.
8. Support implementation of core and cloud connected security controls, including configuration baselines, access controls, and secure operating practices.
9. Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying simple automation opportunities, improving process steps, and enhancing data quality across engineering workflows.
