Why this job matters
The Credit Risk LifecycleTeam, are responsible for managing credit risk across all CFU’s but sitting within Consumer Finance. Credit Risk is made up of teams that specialise in different elements of the customer lifecycle and this role is principally concerned with Recoveries Strategy & Policy which means responsibility across Consumer and Business inc. international.
Key elements of the role include:
To optimise risk in line with business goals.
To ensure simple, highly effective strategies which can be delivered by In House operations and external partners.
Design Recoveries Policies that manage risk and can be consistently delivered by Collections Operations.
Ensure Customer journey is considered in all risk lead interactions
Constantly challenge & evolve Recoveries Strategy to deliver market leading performance
Maximise commercial recovery of debt with third parties either through Debt Collection Agencies or debt sale
Transform and improve key processes
Introduce and be able to evidence end to end controls and their effectiveness
What you’ll be doing - your responsibilities
- Accountable for delivering and shaping Recoveries Strategy across CFUs to enable the achievement of the Credit Risk goals
- Accountable for ensuring accurate Short term forecasting models are developed and maintained to ensure ability to plan to meet Credit Risk targets.
- Responsible for identifying, getting buy in and delivering initiatives to achieve Bad Debt & Compulsory Churn targets
- Own and set Recoveries Policy to be delivered by Implementation team and consistently executed by Collections operations.
- Lead a team of Credit Risk specialists to achieve Credit Risk targets
- Manage external relationships with several suppliers delivering Recoveries for BT/EE
- Develop & maintain highly effective relationships with key strategic stakeholders up to director level
- Build and deliver against challenging financial targets
- Ownership of debt recovery through to end of life legal and debt sale processes
The skills and experience you’ll need
- Story-telling with data: strong skills in building the case for change, drawing on data and analytical techniques where appropriate, and communicating this to business audiences
- Business acumen: Knowledgeable in business strategy and the drivers of organisational performance, including people drivers of performance and financial literacy (e.g. business KPIs, business cases)
- Supplier Management: Ability to develop and maintain highly effective relationships with a small number of external Debt Collections agencies and debt purchasers to ensure results for BT support Credit Risk targets.
- Experience in Credit Risk within a high volume consumer environment
- Experience in designing and evaluating highly effective Recoveries strategies.
- Experience in maintaining commercial relationships with external partners.
