Job Description

About the role

The ESN will replace the existing Airwave network and will be built on the existing 4G network and will provide essential new voice, data services and critical comms to 300,000 members of Britain's Blue Light teams. It's also expected that the new network will save the government around £1 million a day

The key element to this role is to use analytical and investigative methods and techniques to identify areas of weakness and opportunities for improvement across all areas of the Radio Access Network. This role will then play a key part in ensuring that the identified improvement opportunities have a business case raised, and those selected to progress are managed and delivered correctly. This role will also be directly responsible supporting the operations team with supplier engagement across multiple vendors large and small.

You will be required to undergo National Security Vetting to SC or NPPV level.

What you’ll be doing

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Have a network understanding and knowledge of radio access network (RAN) architecture
  • Proven understanding of why network components function as they do and their potential impact
  • Strong analytical skills with a proficiency with Excel for data analysis
  • Experience identifying weaknesses and improvement areas through trending data analysis
  • Proven stakeholder management and influencing skills at all levels
  • Be able to use SQL
