The Product Design Manager manages the execution of product design activities, ensuring that BT's products and features are of the highest level of craft and execution, easy to use, and deliver experiences that create value for customers.

What you’ll be doing

1. Manages a team of product designers, recruiting broad skilled multi-disciplinary designers with strong expertise in applicable agile practices and methods applicable, taking responsibility for objective setting and upskilling and development
2. Owns the user experience of a product from conception to launch in partnership with other design team leaders
3. Contributes to strategic decisions around the future direction of BT's products and product design strategy
4. Ensures world class digital-first experiences are created that achieve commercial goals such as increased digital channel share and have clear commercial and customer impact
5. Drives the design of end-to-end user flows and experiences within BT's design systems and/or standards
6. Internally builds meaningful relationships, contributes to a culture of design excellence and promotes a user-centred way of working
7. Advocates for customer needs, ensuring that designers and squads are designing solutions that solve real customer needs
8. Implements continuous improvement opportunities to improve the design team processes, ensuring a consistent and coherent process to manage design quality and collaboration across squads
9. Champions, continuously develops and shares with team knowledge on emerging trends and changes in customer experience, nurturing a shared understanding of customer problems and ensures that the squads are sharing ideas and insights
