About the role
As a Procurement Professional – IT Software, you will support the delivery of procurement activities across a strategically important technology category. Working closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers, you will help drive sourcing initiatives, deliver commercial value, and ensure the business has access to the products and services it needs to operate effectively.
This role is suited to someone who has already gained experience within procurement and is looking to further develop their category management, sourcing and stakeholder engagement skills. You will have the opportunity to manage your own procurement projects while contributing to broader category objectives and business priorities.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead sourcing and tender activities, from requirements gathering through to supplier selection and contract award.
- Support the development and delivery of category plans aligned to business and procurement objectives.
- Partner with stakeholders to understand requirements and provide commercial procurement guidance.
- Negotiate pricing, contractual terms and commercial agreements with suppliers.
- Identify opportunities to deliver value, manage risk and improve supplier performance.
- Ensure procurement activity is carried out in line with company policies, governance requirements and best practice.
- Support supplier relationship management activities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Skills / Experience
- Experience managing sourcing activities and tender processes through to supplier selection and contract award.
- Good commercial awareness with the ability to evaluate supplier proposals and support negotiations.
- Ability to build effective working relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.
- Understanding of procurement processes, supplier management and contract lifecycle activities.
Desirable Skills / Experience
- Exposure to technology, software/SAAS or IT-related procurement categories.
- Knowledge of category management and strategic sourcing principles.
- Experience working in a complex or fast-paced business environment.
- Analytical approach with the ability to interpret commercial and supplier data.
- Familiarity with procurement systems, sourcing tools and contract management platforms.
