We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Senior Procurement Manager to lead a team of procurement professionals responsible for key procurement categories supporting our Business customers. Accountable for developing and delivering category strategies, this role will drive sustainable value, cost efficiency, and strong supplier performance while managing strategic supplier relationships and supporting the development of competitive customer propositions across BT Business.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a global impact across multiple regions and business units, influencing innovative technology and service strategies while owning critical spend categories and strategic supplier partnerships. Working closely with world-class procurement, product, and commercial teams, the successful candidate will play a key role in shaping business outcomes while benefiting from strong leadership and career development opportunities within a forward-thinking procurement function.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead a team of procurement professionals delivering sourcing and category management activities across technology, software, voice, security and related business services.
- Develop and execute category strategies aligned to business goals, customer requirements and risk management priorities.
- Lead sourcing initiatives including RFPs, negotiations, supplier selection and contract management.
- Build and deliver savings pipelines supporting long-term cost reduction and commercial competitiveness.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships across Product, Commercial, Sales, Go-To-Market, Risk, Legal, Finance and operational teams.
- Manage strategic supplier relationships, ensuring performance, compliance, innovation and value delivery.
- Monitor market trends, emerging technologies and industry developments to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, governance frameworks and external regulatory requirements.
- Champion sustainability, supplier diversity and ESG objectives within the supply base.
- Support supplier risk assessments, business continuity planning and resilience activities.
Essential Skills / Experience
- Proven experience in technology, software, IT, telecommunications or business procurement within a large organisation.
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
- Broad understanding of technology products, services, supplier markets and commercial models.
- Demonstrated expertise in category management, sourcing and supplier relationship management.
Desirable Skills / Experience
- Experience in contracting, risk management and supplier governance.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, matrix environment with global teams.
- Relevant professional qualifications such as CIPS or equivalent are advantageous.
