The role holder will be responsible and leading the design, implementation, testing and handing over to service operations security solutions based on BT’s security portfolio technologies. The role holder will be expected to ensure delivery of services to agreed timescales, and ensuring delivered services meet or exceed BT standards or what is contractually obligated to BTs customer. To make this happen, the job holder has the authority to engage other people within the unit or via matrix management as appropriate and assume the technical lead design role for the specific project.

You’ll have the following responsibilities

The Security Specialist is responsible for designing and implementing security solutions in line with defined standards and processes within agreed timeframes and may also be asked to analyse and scope a migration plan based on client requirements

- Live up to BTs values of being personal, simple, and brilliant

- Own the outcome for BT’s customers and internal stakeholders

- As a specialist demonstrate key BT leadership qualities

- Maintain a very good understanding of key Security products (e.g. SASE solutions and Next Generation Firewalls) and become a Subject matter Expert in one or two technologies / vendor solutions

- Owns assignments in the form of objectives or assigned work packages

- The ability to engage with stakeholders to capture requirements and produce appropriate designs based on the stated requirements

- Engage with key operational support stakeholders internally especially our colleagues in SOC

- Provide technical assistance when required for solution implementation and fault diagnostics

- Participate in professional communities and knowledge sharing to colleagues and internal teams

- Work within a virtual team and typically expect to be working on more than one project

- Work within short timescales, anywhere within Spain, and possibly outside Spain. Flexibility is essential in terms of -working hours and location. This includes attending customer premises

- Keep relevant certifications up to date, attending BT product and technology seminars and briefings

- Maintains a reputation for quality and delivery of their expertise to the business.

- Assist the design and implementation manager in mentoring, guiding, and providing support to security professionals in the team

Qualifications

- Must be a native Spanish speaker who can fluently speak English as a second language. (Other languages especially European languages such as Portuguese, French, and German would be advantageous but not essential)

- Expert level knowledge in key security products. For this role that includes SASE and firewall products

- Continue to learn and develop to understand the entire suite of security products and services, especially those offered by BT

- Keep relevant certifications up to date, attending BT product and technology seminars and briefings.

- Have a deep understanding of networking and key networking concepts such as routing, switching, load balancing and low-level networking concepts such as the TCP/IP and the OSI 7 layer model

- Will have achieved or be willing to gain one or more vendor certifications to support their role as an SME (such as a PCNSE, NSE4, CCNP Security, ZCCP-IA, F5-CTS, FSCE, Azure, AWS) and industry certifications such as CISSP

You'll have the following skills & experience

Experience

- The role holder will need a deep understanding of SASE products. Existing deep product knowledge of one of the following – Netskope (preferred), Palo Alto Prisma, Zscaler, CISCO Umbrella or Skyhigh

- Must have extensive existing experience with at least one other category of security products i.e. Next Generation Firewalls (Preferred)(Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point or CISCO firepower) or NAC (Forescout preferred)

- Practical working knowledge of security technologies and a track record of designing and deploying network security solutions. Role Holder will need to have at least 5 years of experience in this area with at least 2 years designing customer solutions

- Strong understanding of networks and network security requirements in a customer physical or cloud environment

- Experience of network routing protocols such as OSPF or BGP would be beneficial

- Must be willing to work flexibly as out of hours working will be required for transition and transformation change windows

Key Skills

- Excellent written and verbal presentation skills in Spanish and English to be able to document and articulate designs and solutions to stakeholders

- Good customer relationship skills, able to build and maintain relationships with the most senior levels, both externally and internally

- Agile worker and must be willing to work in a BT office within Spain (Madrid preferred) occasional travel for meetings will be required. The expectation is you will be in a BT office at least 2 days per week

- Self-motivated and require little oversight

- Ability to work in a process intensive and complex environment

- Ability to work in a team environment
