About the role

As a valued member of the Network Planning team you’ll be empowered to deliver capacity plans for the Converged Core Platform. This responsibility includes creating and planning appropriate network solutions and proactively identifying and implementing process or automation improvements.

You’ll be empowered to drive the Evolution of Network Planning across the CC Platform. This responsibility includes improving and aligning network planning processes and implementing process or automation improvements in Planning and E2E in Plan and Build.

This is an exciting role that will give you the opportunity to work with teams across BT and with our vendors/partners to improve how we Plan and deliver our network evolution and growth objectives.

What you’ll be doing

• Seeks continuous improvement and efficiency opportunities to automate, centralise, standardise, and simplify processes, owning the delivery of improvement projects and initiatives, and owning planning process.
• Operate within an agile development environment.
• Uses technical expertise to propose planning processes, including the development and proof of concept, and process validation, utilising appropriate planning policy rules.
• Full contribution to development of guidelines and policies to manage network planning.
• Creating and planning Network Solutions, utilising appropriate Planning Rules
• Provides sound technical expertise to deliver timely response to queries, identifying and mitigating operational risks as appropriate.
• Delivers high-impact operational activities, monitoring performance and ensuring feedback is inputted to the management process.
• Develops effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to explore opportunities for partnership, acting as the point of escalation for issue resolution.

Essential Skills / Experience

The key purpose of this role is to be the technical interface into the Converged Core Platform.

• Utilising multiple planning tools and techniques the role holder needs to create capacity plans, provide provision activity across the Converged Core Platform and pro-actively identify service improvements, deliver problem management improvements and ultimately improve customer experience with improved MTTP.
• Product Knowledge: understand the products and services that BT provide and how our customers utilise them. Tenacious Problem Solver: a desire to look across platforms and teams to ensure problems are resolved and prevent re-occurrence.
• Technical Skills: Good knowledge and understanding of Nokia Service Router (SR). Highly experienced in call tracing and fault diagnostics. Good knowledge of BT Converged Core Platform, service

• Experience of Ethernet Services
• Experience of IP & Data network planning or delivery
• Nokia Service Router (SR)
• Experience of BT’s Ethernet Services including Harmonised Ethernet and Wholesale Mobile Connect
• BT’s 21st Century Network, Converged Core and IP Platforms
• Orchestration and Automation
• Agile and Waterfall development methods using JIRA, Kanban
