Why this job matters

The Corporate Affairs, Group Brand and Insight team is responsible for building and protecting the reputation BT Group.
The Trading Insight Professional, is responsible for delivering and championing key strategic trading insights. A core element of your role will be to deliver our quarterly market flows & landscaping insight to inform our commercial strategy through a deeper understanding of acquisition, churn and customer motivations. In addition, you’ll lead ad-hoc trading insight projects and support the development of long-term business objectives by synthesising existing sources of customer insight.

What you’ll be doing

• Collaborate with marketing and commercial teams to deliver accurate, customer-focused, and data-based insights.
• Support the prioritisation of insight requests and contribute to the development of long-term strategic roadmaps aligned with business goals.
• Partnering with our agency to deliver the best outcomes to our stakeholders in a timely manner.
• Analyse, integrate, and synthesise internal and external data sources to deliver regular market flows and landscaping insights with a customer centric focus.
• Build relationships with stakeholders to develop a deep understanding of their business areas and ensure insights are actionable and embedded into key business processes.
• Lead and contribute to ad hoc projects, identifying opportunities to enhance business strategy and drive incremental growth.

The Skills and Experience Required

Must have:

  • Experience in insight, strategy, or transformation roles (or a mix) either client-side or at a strategy consultancy or research agency.
  • A passion for customer insight, market intelligence, and business strategy with a strong commercial focus.
  • Experience in synthesising customer and market data into impactful, business-relevant insights.
  • Highly analytical capability with the ability to manipulate complex datasets and transform them into a compelling and clear narrative.
  • Strong presentation skills, capable of articulating complex ideas with authority, identifying business impacts, and making the case for change.
  • Experience in managing third-party agency relationships and engaging with stakeholder groups up to Director level across the business.

Would be good to have:

  • Proven experience in developing strategy through insight for large organisations (e.g. FTSE 100).
  • Proven experience in presenting to, influencing, and collaborating with stakeholders.
  • Proven experience of leading project delivery and managing agencies.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the telecommunications market.
