About the role

BT have a new opportunity for a Finance Manager, Consolidation to join our Gurugram office on a permanent basis.
The role holder will be responsible for the preparation and reporting of monthly, quarterly and annual group consolidated accounts in accordance with Group policies and International financial reporting standards.

What you will be doing (Role Accountabilities)

• Prepare financial and management information for the Parent company of BT Group/BT PLC
• Responsibility for the monthly consolidation process - Ensuring all Entities submit and sign off the results on time.
• To work closely with Group External reporting, FP&A, Investor Relations, regulatory, pension and taxation department in the provision of accounting information and the resolution of issues arising from this information
• To manage and perform consolidation activities including review of the Statement of changes in Equity, Goodwill calculation, investment elimination as well as other consolidation activities including inter and Intra company elimination and equity accounting.
• Operate a number of controls, ensure these are performed as documented and manage changes to the controls as processes are revised.
• Engage with internal and external auditors on process and controls for process covered by the Group Consolidation team.
• To prepare notes and information for the BT Group and BT Plc Annual Reports actively engaging with CFUs/Corporate Units on any issues arising
• You will have the opportunity for role and task rotation with peers in the Group consolidation team

What you’ll need to succeed (Skills & Experience)

Key skills required

• Qualified accountant (ACCA)
• Application of IFRS
• Understanding of Group consolidation accounting (Goodwill/Investment eliminations/Intercompany etc)
• Experience of SAP is essential
• Appreciation for controls
• Appreciation for process improvement and automation
• Commitment to meeting deadlines, strong communicator and stakeholder skill

Experience

  • Demonstrable professionalism with a proven ability to operate in a complex, fast paced matrixed business environment.
  • Track record of consistent and flawless delivery in roles.
  • Understanding of IFRS.
  • Understanding of data flow in BT ERP.
  • Track record of a collaborative approach to problem solving.
  • Able to maintain highest delivery standards in high pressure time frame.
