About the role

As part of BT Digital, we’re spearheading and driving the digital transformation of one of the UK’s most recognisable brands. We’re talking about driving new digital experiences for our customers in new markets, transforming our architecture and developing industry leading capabilities in Data, AI, Fintech and Healthcare. We’re stripping out unnecessary complexity for customers and colleagues and introducing agile methodologies.

The Finance community, including Partnerships play a critical role in driving the Digital transformation: we set and implement the overall BT Digital strategy and plans and we are the engine room driving the outcomes required for our customers. We work across multiple customer units (e.g., Consumer, Enterprise, Global divisions) covering needed updates to products, customer journeys, platforms, 3rd parties, strategic partners, IT architecture and innovation.

What you’ll be doing

  • Partnerships is a key enabler within Digital and is pivotal to creating a new BT. The Transformation team and this role have been designed to drive outcomes required to deliver the Digital and BT transformation.
  • This role is pivotal to enabling the Digital strategy and plans to be delivered as the role will drive an ambitious Digital transformation for ecosystems of partners across performance, data insights and commercial optimization, utilising the best of data and AI capabilities across Digital, that creates a world class partner ecosystem management engagement.
  • Execute the Digital ecosystems transformation initiatives, including benefit realisation – from ideation through to execution on renewals related landscape and manage Digital’s partner efficiency plan through an interlock process between programmes and units on key commercial renewal portfolios.
  • Accountable for driving cost reduction initiatives related to third party spend for Digital Partner Ecosystems efficiency and Sourcing initiatives, including benefit realisation – from ideation through to execution and associated benefit realisation that drives Digital vision and strategy for architecture domains and supplier portfolios and footprints in BT.

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Significant experience with Digital transformation, strategic sourcing & cost reduction and sourcing Operating Model Design & implementation
  • Experience in contract reviews and software supplier product portfolios to explore and articulate alternative solutions to reduce cost and improve service outcomes.
  • Proven track record of developing and delivering impactful sustainable change programmes
  • Have a proven grasp on technology industry architecture key principles and trends and using this insight to influence business decisions and outcomes
  • Advanced MS Office skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Desirable Skills / Experience

  • Practical experience in digital transformation, strategic sourcing, cost reduction, supplier innovation and benchmarking
  • Defining and delivering transformation strategy which includes re-structuring large deals
  • Defining and managing transformation strategy
  • Defining and deliver commercial management and cost reduction projects
  • Knowledge of vendor management function
  • Experience in at least one of the key Technology Sourcing domains: Application Development, Application Maintenance (ADAM), Networks, Data Centres, Cloud, Hosting or End User Computing
  • Commercial acumen for financial and commercial negotiation and full TCO analysis over medium and long term with internal and external factors.
