Delivery Management System Design Specialist
Job Description
About the role
Delivery Performance ensures the success of the Digital portfolio by improving quality, predictability, and delivery standards through clear methodologies, outcome measurement, and continuous improvement, while providing transparent oversight of portfolio health, capacity, and risks.
BT Digital is advancing this through Agentic DMS—an AI-powered capability applied to Jira and related artefacts to reduce manual effort, enhance delivery quality, and proactively identify risks, with this role driving product vision, roadmap, prioritisation, and scaled adoption across programmes.
What you’ll own (outcomes in the first 6–12 months)
Define and deliver the product roadmap by prioritising 2–3 high-value use cases with clear user needs, success metrics, and rollout plans, while establishing measurable business outcomes such as time savings, adoption, trust, and improved delivery insights supported by continuous feedback loops.Build strong data, integration, and governance foundations with secure, auditable systems (Jira, Confluence, SharePoint/OneDrive, PMO artefacts), while driving adoption through enablement, playbooks, and guidance to ensure consistent, trusted usage across delivery teams.
What you’ll be doing
Product strategy & ownership
• Own and evolve the Agentic DMS product roadmap, prioritising the most valuable and viable use cases based on user need, business impact, governance constraints, and strategic fit.
• Translate Delivery Performance priorities (on-time delivery, predictability, flow, QIS) into product capabilities, success measures, and release plans that improve delivery decision-making.
• Define product OKRs, value cases, and feedback loops to ensure the roadmap stays outcome-led and evidence-based.
• Escalates material risks and standard deviations and impacts to the Portfolio Capabilities Lead for decision
User insight, adoption & change
• Work closely with Delivery Leads, PMs, squads, and governance stakeholders to understand pain points, validate opportunities, and shape product improvements around real user needs.
• Drive adoption by creating clear product guidance, playbooks, onboarding materials, and change approaches that help teams know when to trust, review, and override outputs.
• Monitor usage, satisfaction, and behavioural change, using insight to continuously improve the product experience and proposition.
Product delivery & platform collaboration
• Partner with engineering and architecture teams to shape product requirements for agent workflows, integrations, telemetry, and evaluation, ensuring releases are usable, scalable, and aligned to BT-approved platforms.
• Help define the product backlog, acceptance criteria, and release priorities across Jira, Confluence, SharePoint/OneDrive and related delivery tooling.
• Ensure the product integrates effectively into delivery forums, governance processes, and stage-gate reporting so insight turns into action.
Governance, controls & trust
• Embed governance, safety, and auditability into the product by defining guardrails, traceability, permissions, and review mechanisms that support confident use at scale.
• Partner with Security, Legal, Data, and transformation stakeholders to ensure the product meets BT expectations for compliance, control, and responsible AI adoption.
Essential Skills / Experience
• Experience owning or shaping digital product roadmaps in complex enterprise environments, with a strong focus on user value, prioritisation, adoption, and measurable outcomes.
• Strong product thinking: able to turn business problems and user pain points into clear propositions, backlog priorities, success metrics, and iterative release plans.
• Experience working with agentic systems, copilots, or AI-enabled workflow products in enterprise settings, with an understanding of human-in-the-loop design, trust, and operational guardrails.
• Ability to work effectively with engineering, architecture, data, and governance teams to translate product intent into deliverable requirements and release outcomes.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and change leadership skills, including the ability to influence senior stakeholders, communicate product value clearly, and drive adoption across teams.
• Comfort working with delivery tooling such as Jira, Confluence, SharePoint/OneDrive and related metrics, with the ability to connect product outcomes to delivery performance and governance needs.
Desirable Skills / Experience
• Experience in product management for internal platforms, workflow tools, or enterprise AI capabilities.
• Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Studio or Copilot Studio experience; familiarity with enterprise key-management and least-privilege tool execution.
• Experience improving elaboration quality, workflow efficiency, or governance insight through AI-assisted product capabilities.
• Familiarity with BT’s delivery control and governance environment, or experience building products for complex portfolio and transformation settings.
