About the role

The Cyber Security Ops. Professional supports in activities that ensure the delivery of security solutions, supporting daily global operations in the delivery of regular risk reporting, coordinating compliance review activities, and identifying operational improvements and organisational vulnerabilities and risks.

What you’ll be doing

DDoS Monitoring & Mitigation: Monitor traffic and detect volumetric, protocol, and application-layer attacks.

Traffic Analysis: Use telemetry and threat intelligence to identify anomalies, analyse attack vectors, and adjust rules.

Incident Response: Handle mitigation (routing, scrubbing, blackholing) and prepare RCA reports.

Protocol Execution: Follow incident response processes and ensure service uptime.

Coordination: Work with network teams, ISPs, and customers during incidents and recovery.

Reporting: Document incidents and provide detailed reports.

Rule Tuning: Optimize detection rules to reduce false positives.

SLA Compliance: Ensure adherence to SLAs and response timelines.

Essential Skills

Technical Skills:

Core Networking: OSI, TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, UDP; BGP, Anycast, IPsec/GRE; PCAP/NetFlow analysis.

DDoS & Tools: Cloudflare/Akamai/Radware/AWS Shield; L3/L4 vs L7 attack mitigation.

Incident Response: Handle attacks, lead IR, do root cause analysis.

Experience & Certs: 5+ yrs (Network/SOC/Cloud); Security+ / NCSC / cloud certs.

Desirable Skills / Experience

Arbor Tools: AED, APS, TMS, Sightline (Peakflow), Sightline + DefensePro/APS integration

Core Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication & documentation

Operations: 24/7 SOC/NOC experience, shift readiness, SLA/KPI adherence, incident timelines
