What you’ll do
The Senior Cyber Defense Engineer strengthens Vodafone’s cyber resilience by identifying, prioritizing, and reducing security risks across systems, applications, and platforms. This role combines vulnerability management, penetration testing coordination, and incident response, ensuring effective risk visibility, remediation, and alignment with business priorities. You will act as a local SPOC for Cyber Defense activities, working closely with Global teams and stakeholders in a large and evolving environment.
More specifically you will:
- Own and drive the end-to-end vulnerability management lifecycle (scanning, triage, remediation tracking, and trend analysis), ensuring timely, risk-based resolution across all environments
- Coordinate penetration testing activities end-to-end and ensure actionable results
- Act as the main local contact for incident response, working with global cyber defense teams and supporting investigations, root cause analysis and post-incident improvements
- Perform proactive threat hunting across SIEM and EDR/XDR tools, leveraging threat intelligence to detect anomalies and strengthen detection use cases
- Drive security process improvement and automation, optimizing workflows, controls, and tooling to strengthen visibility and overall cyber defense readiness
Who you are
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cyber Security, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience in cyber security, with focus on vulnerability management, incident response, or security operations
- Relevant certifications such as OSCP, CISSP, CISM, and SC-200 are considered a plus
- Strong understanding of security risks, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques
- Able to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
