As a member of the Cyber Security Operation Centre Monitoring and Response team you will play a vital role in responding to immediate security threats on BT and commercial networks across the globe. Responsible for timely and appropriate action related to reactive or proactive cyber events and incident investigation. So, no more counting down the clock. Your future starts here.

  • Weekly Hours: 37.5 (24/7 shift role, shift pattern 2 days/2 nights, 4 off).

What you’ll do:

  • Monitor, analyse and defend against malicious or unusual activity that could be indicative of a security incident or compromise.
  • Using cutting edge technology and a strong set of process and playbooks.
  • Writing and reviewing processes/documentation.
  • Analysis and recommendations of any determined cyber threats to BT and our commercial customers.
  • Be a customer liaison during events/incidents showing empathy, ownership, and speedy response.
  • Have a broad knowledge of multiple cyber security systems and process and be able to flex between BT and commercial customers.
  • Working in a 24x7 Cyber Security Operations Centre (CySOC).
  • Support and maintain the CySOCs ISO 27001 certification.
  • Work across the organisation, typically with incident response teams to ensure security issues are addressed quickly upon discovery.

You’ll need:

  • Possess a recognised current formal qualification in Cyber Security.
  • Have knowledge and experience of SIEM and End Point detection technologies.
  • Ability to make recommendations or implement mitigation techniques.
  • Be self-motivated and proactive.
  • Have a strong attention to detail.
  • Be organised and able to multi-task, prioritise, and manage time effectively.
  • Use your initiative and be comfortable working with changing requirements.
  • Be commercially aware.
  • Have an enquiring mind, thirst for knowledge and willingness to learn.
  • Knowledge of various security methodologies and processes.
  • Must achieve and maintain Security Clearance.

You might even:

  • Have experience working within a Cyber Security Operations Centre
  • Have experience of continuous improvement or transformation projects
  • Have knowledge of TCP/IP protocols, network analysis and network/Security applications
  • Have knowledge of common Internet protocols and applications
