Senior Consultant - Procurement Specialist

About the role

BMT Canada is looking for an experienced Procurement Specialist to join our growing team. Our team is experiencing continued demand for personnel who can support major procurement projects. This may take the form of requirements elicitation, authoring Request for Proposals and Statements of Work, leading industry engagement sessions, or helping identify and oversee development of a procured subsystem.

Our team helps to deliver complex programs through the integration of program management, systems engineering, and change management practices. We help our customers maintain a clear view of their goals and help their workforce achieve them.

Our team members are typically embedded within our clients teams, either physically or remotely, and become trusted partners in the identification, development, and delivery of solutions to address customer priorities for change and performance. We call this support, ‘Tier 0’ support, as we work on behalf of our clients and in their best interests. Knowledge transfer to our clients is a key element of all our engagements as our goal is to set up our clients for success.

About you

We are looking for enthusiastic and flexible team members, who possess the following knowledge, experience, and skills:

• 10 years experience within large complex projects, involving multiple stakeholders, shifting priorities, and significant budgets;
• 5 years experience working with the Canadian Department of National Defence (DND) on work which involved system definition or implementation;
• Awareness of internal DND structures, authorities and practices;
• A Degree level qualification in a managerial or technical discipline;
• Level II (Secret) Security Clearance; and
• A professional organization certification, such as PMP, or P.Eng.

The successful candidate will be able to:

• Demonstrate their awareness of DND procurement guidelines;
• Demonstrate their general understanding of system development and lifecycle processes;
• Work as a team member with a variety of other skill sets and cultures;
• Demonstrate a path of continuous learning; and
• Work independently to delivery product, not just oversee and manage work.

Salary Range

95,000-120,000
