You will get involved in solving engineering challenges through leading the development and delivery of the Marine Engineering aspects of our projects. The projects will range from supporting our customers in procuring and designing new ships to delivering complex in-service changes for both naval and commercial vessels, through the delivery of feasibility studies, technical engineering investigations and analyses. More specifically you may expect to get experience of undertaking:

• Secondments to industry and the UK MOD to broaden your experience.
You will also have an opportunity to contribute to the delivery of projects across our wider portfolio, including submarines and a range of broader consulting projects within our other market areas.
Research and development is also at the heart of what we do and you will have the opportunity to support; enhancing global understanding of ship issues, the development of future ship design concepts as well as the development of new capabilities, tools and processes.
The majority of people within the capability are based in the Bath and Bristol area, however, the capability is part of the UK and Europe region so a balance of in-office, remote and hybrid working will be considered (we also have offices in Glasgow, Plymouth and Southampton). Travel to other BMT offices and customer sites will be necessary as and when required (occasional overseas travel may be required). This is a full-time fee earning role.
