Join BAE Systems Shared Services for a one-week work experience placement and achieve a Silver Industrial Cadet Award. This programme runs Monday to Friday for Year 12 and 13 students, at our Channel Way and The Strand sites in Preston.

Shared Services is central to all the BAE Business Units and Sites. We focus on Professional Service Roles while collaborating with Air, Naval Ships, Submarines, Defence Solutions and Maritime with career pathways including Business, Project Management, Data Analysis, Cyber Security & Finance. Please note this is a non-engineering Work Experience.

Shared Services apprenticeships and career pathways are non-engineering roles. They focus on Business Administration, Finance, HR, Customer Operations, and people centred careers.

During the five-day placement, you will:
• Explore our Shared Services apprenticeship programmes and discover the non-engineering career paths we offer.
• Take part in interactive project activities led by experienced colleagues and apprentices.
• Work collaboratively to plan and deliver a group presentation.
• Join icebreakers and team building sessions to build confidence and connections.
• Learn about our Early Careers routes for school, college, and university leavers.

Applications close approximately eight weeks before the programme begins but may close earlier if we receive high volumes. We recommend applying as soon as possible.
