Job Title: Graduate Submarines Product Safety Engineer
Location: Barrow (Cumbria). We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – however for this role you will be expected to attend your site 2-4 days per week.
Salary: £34,000 Per Annum + £2,000 Welcome Bonus

Role Description
As a Graduate, you will be undertaking work within the Product Safety department of platform complex systems, performing a variety of Product Safety related activities that contribute to the development of a safe submarine design and the production of a Platform Control and Indication safety justification. In particular, we are involved in the production of a full safety case for the submarine platform management system.
Core Duties
- Production of safety documentation, assisting line management in undertaking project analysis to help plan work efficiently, provide project status and identify risks and mitigation features.
- Provide advice / information to departments and stakeholders on issues related to safety justification.
- Assist with maintenance and improvement of the Safety & Environment Management System, including production and maintenance of process instructions.
- Review safety case documentation in accordance with process instructions and stakeholder review of documentation delegated by management, review safety case evidence.
- Contribute to identification and closure of issues emerging from all product lifecycle stages, managing resulting change embodiment activities from a safety objective.

Qualification requirements
You must have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a minimum 2:2 bachelor’s degree or a pass at master’s level in the following subjects: STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)
