Job Title: Trade Compliance Lead

Location: Rochester.

Salary: Circa £45,000 depending on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

• Ensuring compliance with UK Shipping, Packing, International trade regulations, customs laws and sanctions through networking and wider industry engagement
• Update/develop and implement customs compliance strategies and policies to ensure adherence to international customs regulations
• Managing the processing of Import / Export paperwork in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with HMRC, DfT, BIS and BAE system requirements
• Resolving import / export and shipping escalated queries and requests from internal and external customers and stakeholders in a timely and professional manner
• Providing support to Import / Export Office team where required
• Driving continuous process improvements within import/export office
• Ensuring the Rochester business remains fully compliant with regulations and company procedures

Your skills and experiences:

Essential

• Degree or relevant experience, or comparable working experience in Trade Compliance
• Experience of implementing trade controls policies and procedures
• Ability to build and maintain excellent business relationships across all levels within the business
• Good working knowledge of CDS System (Customs Declaration Service)
• Team leading/ coaching experience

Desirable:

• Knowledge of UK Strategic Export Control Lists, EU common and military control lists, EAR, and other trade control regimes

The Import Export Team:

Leading a team within Logistics, you will primarily focus on Import / Export Governance and due diligence of the Electronics Systems Rochester business.

The role is responsible for ensuring compliance to import / export regulations and includes, but not limited to, VAT and Duty reporting, RACM reporting, forecasting and ensuring HMRC requirements are adhered to in a timely manner.
