Role Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Surveyor to join the Dimensional Control team as part of our Maritime Business based at Osborne SA, reporting to the Dimensional Control Manager.

Working across all aspects of the Hunter Class Frigate Program, you will assist by providing dimensional measurement guidance to production and engineering groups on product conformance throughout the ship manufacture process.

Core Duties:

  • Complete dimensional control inspections and provide live feedback and reports to production.
  • Assist in the development of dimensional control plans for assembly build strategies and products.
  • Provision of timely data to production or engineering on product alignment during construction.
  • Appropriately apply product build dimensional tolerances.
  • Utilise suitable measurement equipment based on capabilities and process.
  • Raising non-conformances as issues.

Core Skills:

  • Experience or Degree in Surveying, Spatial Systems, Metrology or Engineering (desired).
  • Certificate IV in Surveying or surveying experience (desired).
  • Relevant trade qualifications, (desired).
  • Beneficial to have practical knowledge and experience of surveying and measurement techniques, including the use of Total Stations, Laser Trackers, Auto levels, Theodolites, Laser Scanners.
  • Knowledge of Auto CAD, 3D surveying software (such as Spatial Analyzer), Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing is advantageous.
  • Must have good communication skills for collaboration, coordination and teamwork.
  • Must be eligible to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Defence security clearance.
