About the OPPORTUNITY

We are currently looking for a Senior Procurement & Subcontracts Officer and Procurement & Subcontracts Officer to join our teams based in Melbourne or Adelaide.

This role is responsible for end-to-end procurement activities including material and services procurement ensuring that best value is obtained for the business while balancing costs, supplier risk, quality, and schedule. Maintaining effective relationships and engaging with key stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive approach. You will ensure adherence to contractual obligations through effective contract management.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Procurement & Subcontracts Officer: Responsible for the supply chain elements across multiple projects and the management of the PM relationship.
  • Supporting sourcing and contract management of subcontracts within a specific program.
  • Support reporting on subcontract performance, risk, delivery, and quality against set targets.
  • Managing supplier relationships, including regular engagement and escalation of performance concerns and risks.
  • Responsibility for all project supplier metrics performance.
  • Leading presentations and engaging with program management teams, IPTs, and other functional areas regarding subcontract/supplier approvals and performance issues.
  • Building cross-functional relationships with project stakeholders to facilitate timely decision-making.
  • Coordinating the supplier evaluation process and supporting sourcing recommendations.
  • Maintaining awareness of external business environments, including economic, political, legal, demographic, social, competitive, global, and technological factors.

About YOU

  • Ability to interact effectively with colleagues within and outside their immediate team, to implement business requirements.
  • Well-developed self-management skills and demonstrated ability to work under their own initiative to deliver outputs to time, quality and cost.
  • Previous contract administration experience will be highly regarded. (especially in areas of ASDEFCON Subcontracts / CASG procurement documentation experience or knowledge).
  • Understanding of financial price models and cost analysis skills (basic to intermediate) will be highly regarded.
  • Ability to use good written and verbal communication skills is important to this role.
  • The ability to form strong working relationships in a project environment, with key suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to show initiative, prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Intermediate MS Office skills, especially in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Intermediate level with Oracle or similar MRP based system.
