About the OPPORTUNITY:
We have an exciting new opportunity for an Operations Manager – Strategic Outsourcing & Services to join our SSN AUKUS program based in Adelaide CBD.
As an Operations Manager – Strategic Outsourcing & Services in SSN AUKUS, you will be responsible for establishing and leading an Integrated Project Team (IPT) for the delivery of strategic outsourcing activities such as, Vendor Establishment, Outsourcing Activities, Supply Chain, et., and providing recommendations to the Shipbuilder Industry Strategy (SIS) Board, offsite fabrications, modules and shipyard services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Establish and manage the Make v/s Buy process, making robust recommendations into to the SIS Board
- Define required Conditions of Supply for off-site manufactured items, that enable delivery of the SSN-AUKUS Build Strategy
- Define Quality requirements for manufactured items, ensuring appropriate quality control and quality assurance activities are undertaken to ensure products meet requirement
- Establish an integrated program of work for outsourced activities, in line with Shipbuilder, enable demand to be understood for outsourced products and Shipyard/platform services
- Delivery of off-site products and shipyard services that are critical to build execution in line with program requirements e.g. paint, at ship machining etc.
About YOU
- Project Management certification and post trade qualifications or proven equivalent trade discipline or relevant experience in production management
- Extensive experience with Supply Chain in a Production & Manufacturing operations environment
- Significant leadership experience operating in an industrialised Production & Manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated experience in a defence manufacturing environment is preferred
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
