Job Description

Job Title: Senior Software Engineer – Teamcenter

Location: Warton – we offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: £49,400 +, depending on experience

What you’ll be doing:

This will be a hands-on role, working as part of a team of technical specialists who work collaboratively and responsibilities include:

  • Working with vendors to support the creation and evolution of the application (Siemens Unified suite of tools)
  • Configuration of system integration interfaces between component parts of the Unified suite of tools
  • Support, enhance and develop the documentation knowledge base
  • Participate in data migration activities
  • Provide support to testing activities
  • Application deployment into development environment
  • Support the development, testing and production environments
  • Provide information and feedback to internal or external customers in a timely, accurate and appropriate manner ensuring that key messages are communicated effectively.
  • Defect resolution
  • Collaborate and participate with Siemens on Overview Design Document sessions

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Proven experience working on Siemens Teamcenter Unified and associated engineering and manufacturing toolsets
  • Proven experience of working in a support role in either a Windows or Unix/Linux environment
  • Installation and configuration of application servers (e.g. Apache HTTP Server, Tomcat)
  • Exposure to BMIDE, Active Workspace configuration
  • Participated in design and solution architecture sessions and collaboration with Siemens

Desirable:

  • Teamcenter server side configuration experience
  • Knowledge and experience of Microsoft SQL Server
  • Knowledge on software configuration management, specifically GIT

The Engineering Systems Competency Centre

The ESCC is based within the Air sector which is based at Warton. Warton is where the Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft is designed, developed and manufactured. Also working on the next generation aircraft for delivery within the next 10 years.

We are located within the Engineering System Competency Centre, which essentially provides applications and systems for the engineering areas of the business. This is all within the umbrella of the IM&T function (that’s Information Management & Technology).

The role will be hands-on working as part of a team of technical specialists who work collaboratively with other members of the wider team mainly made up of Developers,

Project Managers, Business Analysts, Test (Manual and Automated) and the Infrastructure Team.
