Location: Scotstoun, min 1 day/week on site, depending on business needs. Travel to supplier’s premises will be required.

Job Description:

The Senior Quality Engineer role on the Hunter Class Frigate Program plays a pivotal role in ensuring equipment and material meets the technical and Quality requirements prior to acceptance. This role has exposure to suppliers across the entire scope of ship build supply. Cross functional and external collaboration is key to achieving successful outcomes within the Quality areas of influence. This role will have substantial overseas travel where you will represent the programme and wider business. Assist and support HCFP Supply Chain while driving the RFT culture.

Core duties:

  • Conducting surveillance activates across the HCF supply chain and produce supplier reports.
  • Build strong relationships and drive collaborative working with external suppliers
  • Identify any Non Conformances and support suppliers with Corrective Actions and Root Cause Identification
  • Review of Quality contractual deliverables
  • Liaise across GCS programmes to ensure best practise, Lfe and promote RFT culture
  • Provide competent advice on Quality standards/requirements in contracts and proposals

Essential Skills:

  • QA/QC Experience in Ship Build or Heavy Industry
  • Knowledge of equipment and material inspection processes
  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor

The Supplier Quality Assurance Team

The role of Senior Quality Engineer is to assure that HCFP Systems supply chain base are adhering to their quality assurance & control obligations. You will be responsible for the conduct of Hunter Class Supplier Quality Assurance activities and for providing support to the BAE Systems Australia Hunter Class resident team in the UK.
