Role Description

As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you’ll provide technical programme support across Manufacturing Engineering and Operations. You’ll prepare Manufacturing Bills of Materials (MBOMs), Process Instructions and Conditions of Supply, as well as identify tooling requirements. You’ll liaise with impacted Manufacturing Engineering and Operations areas to ensure Manufacturing Engineering outputs are clear and understandable. You’ll also support Manufacturing Operations in the discharge of programme workload.

Core Duties

•Preparation of MBOMs, Process Instructions, Conditions of Supply definition and identification of tooling requirements

•Liaison with impacted Manufacturing Engineering and Operations areas to ensure that ME outputs are clear and understandable

•Support to Manufacturing Operations in the discharge of programme workload

•Supervision of junior team members including approval of their work as necessary

Essential skills

•HNC/HND, Degree or apprenticeship in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g. Mechanical/ Manufacturing/ Aeronautical Engineering)

•Mechanical Process Planning background

•Strong collaborative skills and team working skills

•Takes responsibility for their own development and that of their direct reports

•Prepared to apply for enhanced security clearances

The FCAS Technology Programme Manufacturing Engineering Team

You’ll join a Manufacturing Engineering team of around six people supporting the FCAS UK Technology Programme, working as part of the wider FCAS Manufacturing Engineering team. The programme is investigating new and novel air vehicle technologies for the next generation of combat aircraft, giving you the opportunity to contribute to sixth-generation capability and help influence the UK’s next-generation fighter. You’ll work closely with Air Vehicle Engineering teams, the broader FCAS Manufacturing Engineering community and Manufacturing Operations, providing Manufacturing Engineering support to programme delivery.
