Location: Hillend, Fife – Fully On-Site

Job Description:

You will develop, implement and govern capable methods of manufacture, assembly, disassembly and repair (including method of verification) which can meet customer and business requirements for Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring compliance to design intent.

Core duties:

  • You will be responsible for converting the Engineering Design intent into Manufacturing Engineering data (sometimes complex) for Operations use
  • You will complete personal and team tasks using appropriate techniques
  • You will contribute to the management of the Quality and SHE Systems, for Manufacturing Engineering processes and documentation e.g. calling up safe methods of working
  • You will build effective internal and cross functional relationships in order to achieve overall Project requirements
  • You will provide decision-making information by calculating production, labour, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements
  • You will be responsible for the correct and efficient use of Lean Tools and Techniques (A3’s, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Root Cause Analysis etc.). This includes Be responsible for developing their depth and breadth of Manufacturing Engineering knowledge and skills
  • You will act as a project focal point for discipline specific tasks ensuring best practices are adopted and embedded. This may involve developing processes within their sub-discipline by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing development methods and equipment by conferring with field specialists and technologists

Essential Skills:

  • You will have professional knowledge of relevant Engineering standards (including SHE regulations)
  • You will be experienced in performing route cause analysis and reporting on countermeasures
  • You will hold HNC or equivalent qualification, alongside experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role or a Foundation degree with experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role
  • You will have SAP experience
  • You will be qualified to IPC 610 Class 3
  • You will have knowledge of CAD conversation to SMT (Surface Mount Technology) machine programmes
  • You will demonstrate good knowledge of Surface Mount Manufacturing processes

The Manufacturing & Engineering Team:

As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will have significant involvement in key Manufacturing Engineering projects. You will use your knowledge and experience to guarantee delivery of Manufacturing Engineering outputs into Operations that ensure design intent can be met. The role holder will advise, coach and lead other team members as part of their daily responsibilities. Working in a cross functional environment can also provide the opportunity to exposure across the whole site and the wider business
