Salary: Circa £44,000 depending on experience
Dynamic (hybrid) working: 4-5 days per week on-site due to workload classification

As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:
An opportunity has arisen within the New Programmes team, for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer who would work alongside Design and the New Business team throughout the New Product Introduction (NPI) process to identify manufacturing requirements in the support of new bids, be responsible for the development of the manufacturing system through the industrialisation gateways and handover of the qualified manufacturing system to the production teams.
As a New Programmes Senior Manufacturing Engineer you will:
- Support industrialisation activities to create a robust manufacturing system.
- Support the compilation of Manufacturing Engineering bid packs to feed into the formal bid proposal.
- Provide manufacturing input in to early design by coordinating Design for Manufacture / Test (DFM/DFT) sessions.
- Identify and manage manufacturing risks through interrogation of lessons learnt and effective use of PFMEA.
- Develop relationships with project stakeholders (design, procurement, project management, technical experts, quality, planning & control, production teams)
- Liaise with the Tx community to implement new manufacturing processes and technology into future bids.
- Management of configuration control by the embodiment of design modifications into the manufacturing documentation
- Ensure products are produced with consideration to safety, efficiency and economic factors
- Drive the progression of the Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) to meet product milestones.
- Work with Tooling design to develop the necessary tooling, jigs and fixturing to facilitate the progression of the manufacturing process.
- Plan, deliver and monitor assigned tasks ensuring requirements are delivered to plan.
What we're looking for from you:
- Formal technical Engineering/Craft Apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3 and formal further education certificate to Level 4 (HNC) or equivalent in a relevant subject
OR
- Degree in a relevant subject.
Essential:
- Manufacturing Engineering experience
- Must demonstrate a proactive approach to problem solving and commitment to work to meet our delivery milestones.
- Have the ability to interpret Design Drawings with a view to producing Manufacturing Build Instructions.
- Must be able to work within and contribute to a team environment.
- Awareness of digital communication platforms to work and communicate effectively within the workplace
- Frequent travel to Stevenage to support development builds.
Desirable:
- New Product Introduction (NPI) experience in a Manufacturing Engineering position.
