Job Description
The Quality & SHE Lead reports to the Training Standards
Lead and is Responsible for Day to day management of all Maintenance SHE and
internal Quality audit programme.
Responsible for the establishment of SHE and Quality Systems
across Maintenance in support of Operations. This role will conduct the day to
day management of SHE and Quality Assurance Activities within all Maintenance
areas.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assisting the Maintenance Managers in managing the
maintenance audit programme, including an annual review of previous
findings. - Co-ordinate the units internal audit programmes,
including: - Routinely highlight non-compliances within
maintenance prior to audit - Briefing the Maintenance Managers on the audit
status. - Analyse the results from previous audits and follow
up outstanding actions. - Routinely undertake visits to all maintenance
locations. - Use publicity to raise SHE and Quality profile,
awareness and issues. - Conduct audits, inspections in accordance with
internal procedures and OHSAS 18001/ISO 14001 requirements, to agreed and
communicated schedule - Investigative SHE accidents, incidents and
non-conformances, producing comprehensive reports with root cause analysis
in line with procedural requirements within agreed timescales - Support SHE workshops are undertaken in business
areas, aligned to the schedule - Act as the focal point for all SHE and Quality
Assurance issues within Maintenance Areas - Maintain currency of personnel with respect to SHE
and Quality awareness by; - Ensuring compliance to the MOE through
implementation of the QMS. - Promoting the company Quality and Safety
Policies. - Leading and promoting continuous improvement
initiatives through effective auditing, process improvements, data
analysis and Maintenance patrols. - Ensuring awareness of Quality principles and
practices across Maintenance. - Ensuring awareness of SHE principles and practices
across Maintenance. - Conduct robust root cause analysis to NCR findings
from within Maintenance or externally by the Assurance function or 3rd
party - Delivery of SHE briefings in conjunction with the
Training Cell Supervisors - Embrace and actively demonstrate positive SHE
behaviours - Support the Medical department as appropriate with
focus on early intervention and rehabilitation of injured parties
Key Accountabilities / Performance Measures:
- Performance indicators – Ensure the effective
management of Quality and SHE audit activities by setting delivery targets,
monitoring progress and developing performance improvement
programmes. - Completion of activities – Ensure all SHE and Quality
activities are appropriately documented and appropriate records are maintained
on relevant systems (IT/paper based). Ensure all activities are performed by
suitably qualified, experienced and authorised personnel. Ensure the
integration of SHE and Quality activity within the business, including the
engagement of key stakeholders at all stages of the process. Provide support
and guidance to the teams - Procedure/standards – Support the Management of the
maintenance team compliance with the appropriate SHE and Quality legislation,
its associated procedures and standards, and any other Company procedures and
standards, as applicable. Identify, propose and implement change as required,
whilst ensuring compliance - Safety Management System – Promote the application of
Human Factors, Error Management, Risk Management and Safety Assurance within
the maintenance team, together with the proactive analysis, mitigation and
management of Hazards - Management System Assurance – Ensure the maintenance
team activities are compliant with the Regulatory Governance and Assurance
framework. Ensure Process Confirmations and independent assurance audits are
supported by Continuing Airworthiness Records personnel and integrated within/across
teams. Manage the response to audit findings in a timely and appropriate manner
and provide information into the relevant reviews. Generate and implement
effective improvements within/across teams to overcome any non-compliance and
monitor effectiveness
Requirements
- The role holder is
required to hold one or more of the following QCF/NQF Level 5 (or higher) SHE
qualifications (for this post the role holder must hold a Safety qualification
as a minimum) - NEBOSH National
Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health - Level 5 NVQ in
Occupational Safety and Health Practice - NEBOSH Diploma in
Environmental Management - IEMA Diploma in
Sustainable Business Practice - Safety, Health and/or
Environmental Honours Degree (Bachelor’s or Higher) - Equivalent
qualification in Safety, Health and/or Environmental subject - Recognised assurance
auditor qualification, complimented with vocational experience acceptable to
the approving competent authority - Additionally, the
following skills and experience are desirable:- - Knowledge of UK and
Qatari SHE and Quality Regulations - Understanding of
Maintenance and Training Regulations. - The ability to
influence at all levels in order to promote change and communicate effectively
with a wide range of stakeholders whilst maintaining independence - Strong organisation
and motivational skills - The ability to
co-ordinate multiple priorities in a dynamic operating environment and work
within a high degree of autonomy - Ability to support a
continuous improvement culture underpinned by appropriate management reporting
systems and escalation processes. - The following
