Role Description:
As a Quality Control Inspector – Hotwork, you will join a team of 6 to conduct inspections in line with Inspection Test Plans and Records, ensuring all hotwork activities meet required standards and are fully documented. You will assess results against drawings and specifications, maintain accurate records, issue timely reports, and manage non‑conformances through established processes. You will apply quality tools to support continuous improvement, assist with investigations, audits, and process confirmations, and liaise with third‑party auditors and customers, including Lloyd’s Register, to ensure compliance and resolve issues effectively.
Core Duties:
- Carry out daily hotwork inspections in accordance with the Unit Build Strategy and schedule
- Document inspection results accurately, report findings, and complete final Quality Control documentation sign‑off
- Communicate issues and inquires promptly to key stakeholders to support timely resolution
- Share cross‑functional knowledge from Quality Control with other project teams to support alignment and improvement
Essential Skills:
- Core trade qualification and time served in Shipbuilding disciplines
- Ability to read hotwork and steelwork drawings
- IT proficient with Microsoft office suite
The Quality Control Team:
