Role Description:

We are currently looking for a Procurement Officer to join our Maritime Sustainment team based in Osborne, SA for a 12-month fixed term contract.

As a Procurement Officer you will be responsible for the establishment, placement and management of the appropriate contracting arrangements with capable suppliers to deliver the cost, schedule, quality and safety requirements of the business.

Core Duties:

• Aid the procurement elements of bids and tenders ensuring robust definition of requirements and commercial terms
• Support the supplier evaluation process and support sourcing recommendations on behalf of the business
• Support the development of robust supplier sourcing strategies for the business
• Proactively manage the performance of suppliers to achieve the requirements of the contract from a schedule, cost and quality perspective, developing and embedding the relevant KPIs
• Lead supplier negotiations and finalise Supplier Agreements and purchase orders in accordance with set procedures and Delegations Of Authority

• Work with the Supply Chain Planning team to aid with the calculation of material quantities or items required to complete specific job orders.

About You

• Tertiary qualification in a relevant field is desirable.
• Defence industry experience would be highly regarded.
• Demonstrated experience in procurement or supply chain.
• Familiarity and experience in the development and negotiation of contracts with key suppliers.
• Ability to effectively manage stakeholder expectations and deliver on commitments.
• Previous experience with Aveva and/or Oracle will be highly regarded.

Maritime Sustainment:

We are also responsible for the design and build of one of the world’s most advanced anti-submarine warships — known as the Hunter class frigate — at the Osborne Naval Shipyard in South Australia. The Hunter class frigates will provide the Royal Australian Navy with critical capability to help protect the nation for decades to come.
